Unsubbed

Day 1 of 100

100 apps in 100 days, built in public

Unsubbed is an open-source software project started by Zabir Mahmud. The goal is simple: build 100 free alternatives to apps people pay for every month, one a day for 100 days, and give every one of them away with its code.

The first Unsubbed app, Clarity, on a laptop and a phone, with the next apps' icons below

Why build free versions of paid apps?

Subscriptions keep rising for tools people use a few times a month. Unsubbed takes popular paid apps, rebuilds the core of what people actually use as a free browser app, and publishes the code so nobody can take it away. Each app is designed fresh: same easy workflow, its own look and words.

The rules every app follows

Free, no catch

$0, no trial, no paid tier, no ads. Tips on Ko-fi are optional.

Private

Runs in your browser. No account, no tracking, files stay on your device.

Built fresh

Designed from public information only, with its own design and wording. Never copied code.

Open source

AGPL-3.0 on GitHub. Improvements made by others must be shared back.

Tell us which app to free next

Reply on X with the subscription you're most tired of paying for. The most-requested ones get built first. Meanwhile, try Clarity, the day 1 app.
